Description of Hells Reaper T4-70K

Released with the CX-05 Random Booster Vol. 6 as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line system on March 29th, 2025, Hells Reaper T4-70K is a right-spin Balance type combination.

This Beyblade is the first balance type combination released as part of the CX/Custom Line, the third Beyblade X Line. It features customisable Blades, being made of three interchangeable parts : the Lock Chip, the Main Blade and the Assist Blade.

This stock combination is specialized in repeated Smash Attacks, according to the original Japanese definition. Instead of attacking the opposing Beyblade with horizontal or upper attacks, Smash Attacks are pushing the opposing Bey down, creating a high destabilization risk. This specific type of attack was already part of Hells Hammer gimmick.

Hells Reaper also displays decent stamina potential, thanks to the Kick Bit. Kick makes the stock combination easy to play, allowing players to attack the opposing Beyblades while remaining quite safe thanks to Kick high stability and stamina potential.

Additionally, the Assist Blade Turn enhances Hells Reaper destabilization potential, and it also features a mode change gimmick. It allows players to choose an attack mode, or a defense mode, similarly to the Disc Frame Turn from the Beyblade Burst Generation.

However, the Main Blade Reaper having very thin contact points, the attack potential of this stock combination may feel limited ; it won’t strike as hard as a traditional Attack type Beyblades. Hells Reaper relies on continuous attacks instead of one hit Knock Outs, in an attempt to destabilize the opposing Bey progressively throughout the Battle.

Due to the fact that the contact points are made of both metal and plastic, recoil can be quite unpredictable, sometimes resulting in a feeling of randomness.

How to Improve Hells Reaper T4-70K

First of all, players can replace the 4-70 Ratchet to increase Burst resistance. Then it is mainly a matter of picking a Ratchet that creates synergy in the combination : 9-60 is a great option, with high Burst resistance, but players may consider 1-60 for more attack, 7-60 for added weight and stability, or 3-60 and 5-60, both being very versatile.

Reaper having thin contact points and an overall square shaped design, it tends to perform best in anti-attack and anti-defense combinations, lacking the required stamina and raw attack potential to out spin Stamina combinations. Therefore, using Bits with decent mobility and stamina may be a good strategy. Ball is a safe option, featuring high stamina potential, Point, Unite and Taper are more agressive, these are great Bits for Anti Attack combinations. Level, Rush or Low Rush can also be interesting, Level providing high stability to any combination.

At the time of writing, there are not many Assist Blades to choose from, and Turn has a good synergy with Reaper, both having a four-sided shape. Assist Blades such as Slash can add attack potential, while Round may increase Defense.

Final Thoughts

Hells Reaper is a decent Balance type Beyblade, even though Reaper lacks a bit of raw attack power and stamina. However, Custom Line collectors may be interested by the Assist Blade Turn, and players who do not enjoy CX Beys may still be interested by Kick, a very good, easy to play component. Additionally, as with all Custom Line models it allows players to customize their Beys with more depth than before.
