Description of Sol Eclipse D5-70TK
Released as a Starter as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Custom Line system on March 29th, 2025, CX-09 Sol Eclipse D5-70TK is a right-spin Balance type combination. The included Launcher is a Winder Launcher.
As all Custom Line models, this Beyblade features a customisable Blade, being made of three interchangeable parts : the Lock Chip, the Main Blade and the Assist Blade.
This stock combination is specialized in mode changes, featuring 8 different modes. The mode changes are allowed by the gimmicks found on the Main Blade Eclipse, the Assist Blade Dual, and the Bit Trans Kick.
Both Eclipse and Dual can be used in “Upper Attacks” or “Smash Attacks” modes, and Trans Kick allows to change the combination height, sitting 1 mm below or above the standard height.
In reality, Sol Eclipse performs better when launched in High Mode, in order to create smooth Xtreme Dash Attacks (see the complete article on Trans Kick).
Furthermore, despite its official Balance type label, Sol Eclipse has thicker contact points than other Custom Line Balance type Blades, such as Reaper.
This results in a fairly aggressive Beyblade with decent Attack and Destabilization potential.
However, when launched in High Mode, the added millimeter of Trans Kick High Mode, combined with 5-70 can increase Burst Risk.
Due to the fact that the contact points are made of both metal and plastic, recoil can be quite unpredictable, sometimes resulting in a feeling of randomness.
How to Improve Sol Eclipse
At the time of writing, the best options to improve Custom Line Beyblades are the Assist Blades Wheel and Heavy. Wheel is preferred to create Defense/Stamina oriented combinations, while Heavy is the preferred option in agressive Balance/Attack type combos. If none these Assist Blades are available, then Dual and Turn are decent (albeit outclassed) alternatives.
In Stamina/Defense type combinations, unfortunately, Custom Line Beyblades require 9-60 to improve Burst resistance. In Stamina match-ups however, Burst risk is reduced, allowing players to pick 3-60 or 5-60 and 7-60.
Some of the best Stamina type Bits options are Ball and Free Ball. It is worth noting than the added stability of Wall Ball can be used with great success in stamina match-ups.
In Attack/Balance type combinations, the Ratchet choice comes down to a matter of personal preference. From 9-60 to 1-60, the increased Burst resistance of Attack and Balance type Bits gives more freedom. The Bit choice however can be critical in CX combinations. Although the very popular Rush and Low Rush can be used, other Bits with high stability can create great synergy with Custom Line combinations. At the time of writing, Level is a great option for agressive CX combos, while Kick is a decent Balance type alternative.
Final Thoughts
Sol Eclipse is a very good Beyblade, although none of its components are real must have for competitive players. Eclipse, Dual and Trans Kick are outclassed by options such as Blast, Wheel and Kick.
Therefore, Sol Eclipse D5-70TK is a nice addition in any Beyblade X collection.
