Description of Xceed’+Z
First released with the B-196-02 Random Booster Volume 28 as part of the Dynamite Battle system on March 19, 2022, Xceed’+Z is an attack type Performance Tip. For detailed informations about the normal version of this Driver, see the complete Xceed’ article.
The added “Zone Chip” or “Z” is a chip compatible with the Zone’ and Xceed’ Performance Tips. It can be assembled and removed from both Drivers.
Xceed’+Z is an attack type Performance Tip, featuring a combination of plastic, metal and rubber. The tip itself is flat and made of rubber, barely protruding from a thin plastic ring, surrounded by the metal disc of the “Z” chip.
“Z” is slightly cone-shaped, and it has a smooth perimeter, as well as a fairly wide and smooth surface, increasing the size of the free-spinning plate. Unlike the Xceed Chip, the Zone Chip has no added level, allowing the plastic tip to be more exposed. Additionally, unlike X, “Z” is a free spinning Chip.
Therefore, the added metal chip creates a second point of contact with the stadium, keeping the combination stable with minimum stamina loss due to the low friction of metal and the free-spinning nature of the chip. “Z” also adds LAD (Life After Death) to the combination.
Xceed’+Z is slightly better than Xceed’+X against same-spin opponents. Xceed’+Z really shines against opposite-spin opponents, keeping a nice flower pattern and ending the battles with very good stamina and LAD. “Z” is also easier to play and control ; Xceed’+Z can be launched with more confidence than Xceed’+X.
Overall, the low friction of metal combined with the free-spinning nature of the Zone Chip provide high stamina and LAD potential to the combination. However, it can also result in an increased knock-out and self-K.O. risk.
Final Thoughts
The Zone Chip is a real upgrade to Xceed’, making Xceed’+Z is the best variant of the Xceed’ Performance Tip.
Therefore, Xceed’+Z is not a must have for competitive players, but it remains a highly recommendable Performance Tip.
