Description of Samurai Saber 2-70L

Released with as a Starter as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports Unique Line system on August 9th, 2025, UX-09 Samurai Saber 2-70L is a right-spin Attack type combination. This Starter also introduced a new winder launcher, the Hold Laucher.

As all Unique Line models, this Beyblade features resin launcher hooks instead of the regular metal ones seen on Basic Line Models. This further increases Outward Weight Distribution, a characteristic that significantly improves stamina and attack potential.

Unique Line models also have a gimmick : Samurai Saber is able to alternate “One Hit” attacks, similarly to Dran Buster, and “Barrage attacks”, attacks inflicted in quick succession. This change in attack style is possible thanks to two additional contact points which can release or retract. The mode change gimmick is enhanced by Level, a Bit able to perform 3 different movement patterns.

In its “One Hit” mode, this Beyblade is supposed to inflict powerful attacks to knock the opposing Bey out. The Barrage mode is meant to Burst the opposing Beyblade by striking its Ratchet.

In reality, the additional contact points move freely, which means they don’t add any significant attack potential to the combination. Moreover, these two additional Blades are completely loose. As a result, these two contact points decrease attack potential, and increase defense potential by mitigating collisions with the opposing Bey.

Furthermore, Level has high stamina, allowing the stock combination to start the Battle with very agressive and fast movement patterns, and end each round with a conservative behavior.

However, this Beyblade comes with 2-70, which has the worst Burst Resistance in Beyblade X at the time of writing. Therefore, even Attack and Balance type Bits are not enough to compensate for 2-70 poor Burst resistance.

Overall, Samurai Saber 2-70L has a Burst Resistance issue due to the use of 2-70, although it does have a very interesting style and identity. While its lack of raw attack potential can be disappointing at first glance, the Blade Samurai Saber is actually a decent Blade, which could be labelled as a Balance type. Furthermore, Level is a top tier component, one of the best Attack type Bits available, able to compete with options such as Rush and Low Rush.

How to Improve Samurai Saber

As mentioned above, the priority is to improve the combination Burst resistance. Since the Blade and the Bit are both versatile components, players can experiment with any Ratchet. 3-60, 5-60, 9-60 and 7-60 are all great options. If possible, we would recommend to avoid 4-60, which also has poor Burst Resistance.

Players willing to make the stock combination easier to play can use Rush and Low Rush instead of Level. Level is just as good as Rush and Low Rush, but it is more skill intensive and may require a bit of practice.

When it comes to the Blade itself, it can have great success in any type of combinations. Stamina Bits are obvious and easy to play, with options such as Ball, Orb, Free Ball or Wall Ball. Defense type Bits such as Wedge and Under Needle are also interesting options.

Finally, Samurai Saber has great synergy with Balance type Bits in anti-attack combinations. Options such as Taper, Kick or Unite are great to counter some of Beyblade X best Attack type combinations.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Samurai Saber 2-70L Attack type label can be misleading. In reality, it does have the behavior and characteristics of Balance type Beyblades. While it doesn’t excel in any specific area of the game, it acts as a jack of all trades, thanks to its decent stamina and defense. However, players may need to replace 2-70 to avoid any Burst Resistance issue.

Additionally, the Hold Launcher features a new ripcord, slightly longer than the standard ones. It is compatible with standard Winder Launchers, allowing to launch with more power.

Therefore, this Starter has great value and be considered as a must have in any Beyblade X collection.
