Description of Metal Never Driver

First released with the B-201 Zest Achilles Customize Set as part of the Burst Ultimate system on August 6th, 2022, Metal Never is the metal lock version of the Never Performance Tip. See the complete article on Never here. Please read the notes and warning below.

Metal Never is a stamina type Performance Tip, featuring a free spinning sharp tip surrounded by a plastic ring made of POM (Polyoxymethylene), a material known for its low friction. The free spinning tip is very sharp, limiting friction as well.

While this Performance Tip is better used against same-spin opponents, it’s worth noting that Metal Never combined with a smooth Blade can be decent against opposite spin opponents.

Final Thoughts on Metal Never Driver

Metal Never is not a must-have for competitive players, being outclassed by a few stamina Drivers now famous in the Beyblade community (High Xtend+’, Drift, Bearing Drift etc.).

If used with no real competitive purpose, this Performance Tip is a very good addition to any player’s collection.

Important notes about Metal Drivers

A Metal Driver features a lock made of metal instead of plastic. The metal adds weight and a stronger spring, which in theory increases burst resistance.

In reality, the metal tabs tend to slide over the layer’s teeth, potentially damaging the teeth in the process. Furthermore, in order to limit the unusual wear metal tabs are causing, the tabs have been shortened, which decreases burst resistance.

However, Metal Drivers can be useful and safely assembled on the Bahamut and Kerbeus DB cores, which are both featuring rubber slopes instead of plastic teeth. With these two DB cores players can benefit from Metal Drivers weight and burst resistance without any risk of damage or wear on your layer.

WARNING : Metal Performance Tips can cause damage and unusual wear on the Layer’s teeth, therefore it is recommend to avoid using those Drivers, unless players have the following options at their disposal :

1) The safest way to use a metal driver is on the rubber slopes of the Bahamut and Kerbeus DB cores.
2) The other option is to use them on the Double-Chassis from the Superking system. When combined to a Double-Chassis, the wear still seem to be a bit unusual and premature, but it remains very limited compared to single chassis and all the traditional Layers from the Beyblade Burst Generation.
