Description of the Accel’ Driver
First released with the B-146 Random Booster Vol. 16 as part of the Gatinko Layer system on July 20th, 2019, Accel’ is the “dash” version of the Accel performance tip. You can see our complete article on the Accel driver here. The dash version of a driver has a stronger spring, increasing burst resistance significantly.
Accel’ features a small, flat plastic tip of small diameter, allowing the combination to move with speed around the stadium. When launched flat, this driver is able to create a fast Tornado Stall. When launched with a banked shot, this driver is able to create a flower-pattern, making it a decent attack Performance Tip.
Plastic creates less friction with the stadium floor than rubber, making Accel less aggressive than other classic attack type drivers such as Xtreme’. Furthermore, the lack of friction means that it will be more difficult for the combination to maintain a flower-pattern movement. Additionally, the plastic tip will make the combination relatively fast but also slightly harder to control, increasing the risk of self knock-outs.
However, the plastic tip of this driver does not suffer from wear like rubber attack Performance Tips, which typically need to be replaced on a regular basis due to their performances dropping with wear. Furthermore, plastic also creates more stamina potential, making this driver a potential option to play in the DB standard stadium.
Final Thoughts
Being made of plastic, this driver cannot compete with classic rubber attack drivers such as Quick’ or Xtreme’. However, it remains a fairly reliable attack Performance Tip that does not suffer from wear, and its stamina potential can make it a relevant albeit non-competitive option in larger stadiums such as the DB standard arena.
Therefore, this driver is not a must have, but it can be a great addition in any player’s collection.
