Description of Shark Edge
First released in the BX-14 Random Booster Vol.1 as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports system on September 9th, 2023, Shark Edge is a right-spin Blade featuring a very aggressive design.
This Blade features two upward slanting contact points. The shape of the contact points can create upper attacks, allowing the combination to send the opposing Beyblade flying over the Xtreme Zone wall, even at relatively low spin velocity.
The heavy weight and agressive contact points of this Blade result in extremely powerful smash attacks, allowing the combination to burst or K.O. opposing Beyblades with relative consistency.
Overall, Shark Edge raw attack power is at least equal, if not superior to Dran Sword. However, the former has less stamina potential, making it even more reliant on early attacks to burst or K.O. the opposing Beyblade.
Furthermore, the attack potential of this Blade may decrease over time, with its main contact points becoming dull due to wear. For this reason, players willing to use this Blade regularly may have to keep multiple copies at their disposal.
Suggested combinations
This Blade is mainly used with Ratchets such as 3-80 and 3-60 in mobile attack combinations. Low Flat, Flat, and Taper are the preferred Bits. Low Flat and Flat are the most aggressive options, while Taper is a safer alternative due to its increased stamina potential.
Use in stationary combinations
Shark Edge can also be used in stationary combinations with great success, using the Needle Bit. The combo becomes predictable, lunging in the center area of the stadium. It allows players to launch with force and can create an opportunity to strike the opposing Beyblade very early in the battle.
Final Thoughts
Dran Sword is the most popular attack Blade choice amongst Beyblade players, but Shark Edge is at least a viable alternative. While the shape of this Blade allows Upper Attacks, it has the best Smash Attack power in the Xtreme Gear Sports system.
More time is needed to see how wear impacts this Blade’s performances.
