Description of Barricade Lucifer

Released on December 10, 2022 as part of the Burst Ultimate system, Barricade Lucifer Illegal Bearing Mobius-10 is a right-spin defense type Beyblade, and it is the final release in Takara Tomy’s Beyblade Burst generation, the 3rd Generation of Beyblade.

Barricade Lucifer features a gimmick : the Barricade Blade has four “barrier blades” made of rubber. These “barrier blades” will deploy when the combination is launched. These rubber blades will extend more or less depending on launch power. Therefore, this Beyblade can be launched with force to make the gimmick as effective as possible.

Later in the battle, as the combination slows down, the rubber blades will retract. Once the “barrier blades” are back in their original position, the combination has a circular shape with four rubber parts along its perimeter.

Performances

The “barrier blades” are intended to protect the combination from the opposing Beyblade attacks, and it can do so with great success. This gimmick can be more than a simple defensive tool, since it can also prevent spin-equalizing combos from getting the required friction on the opposing Blade.

As long as the rubber blades are released, the opposing Beyblade will not be able to make contact with the Barricade Blade, preventing spin-steal and mitigating opposing attacks.

Furthermore, the shape of the “barrier blades” combined with how Bearing Mobius performs result in strong performances in opposite-spin battles and poor performances in same-spin battles. Therefore, most left-spin combinations will be slowed down by Barricade’s “barrier” and will most likely lose the battle. Once the “barrier blades” are retracted, Barrier Lucifer will get spin-steal potential, and will out-spin the opposing Beyblade.

However, right-spin combinations will benefit from the “barrier blades”. Instead of being slowed-down, they will be “redirected”, moving around a tilted Barricade Lucifer, and strike it from below. Therefore, both attack and stamina right-spin combinations will be able to strike Lucifer from below, and destabilize it. Barricade Lucifer will most likely lose against such opponents.

Overall, this stock combination is solely focused on opposite-spin battles, being able to counter any type of left-spin combo.

Friendly Use

In a friendly environment, it is difficult to improve this Beyblade without altering its identity ; the components used have great synergy and great quality. The shape of the rubber “barrier blades” works better against left-spin Beyblades, making Bearing Mobius a coherent choice.

However, Performance Tips such as Bearing’ and Bearing Drift may be experimented with to improve performances against same-spin combinations. Nonetheless, against right-spin combinations, the innate tendency of Barricade to be struck from below is hard to mitigate.

Competitive Use

Barricade Lucifer Illegal Bearing Mobius-10 features at least three top tier competitive components, the Lucifer DB Core, Illegal Forge Disc and 10 Armor. Illegal and “10” are versatile options featuring great weight distribution. Therefore, both can be used in any type of competitive combination.

Lucifer is a very good right-spin DB Core featuring high stamina potential and good burst resistance. For players lacking options, these three components can be combined to create a competitive combination.
