Description of Leon Claw 3-80HN

Released with the BX-24 Random Booster Vol. 2 as part of the Xtreme Gear Sports system on December 27th, 2023, Leon Claw 3-80HN is a right-spin defense type combination.

This stock combination can be an opportunity to get good Parts such as 3-80, a popular Ratchet choice in attack type combinations, and High Needle, a Bit with high stamina potential.

Furthermore, collectors may be interested by the red recolored Leon Claw Blade.

Overall, this combination has a decent stamina potential. However, the light weight of the Blade and the low friction of the Bit result in poor defense potential.

Blade : Leon Claw

Leon Claw is a right-spin Blade featuring a pentagonal shape. This Blade has five contact points, each featuring an embossed claw design.

While the shape and overall design of this Blade are intended to create decent attack and defense potential, its light weight prevents it from displaying consistent performances.

However, the light weight of the Blade creates great mobility, allowing the combination to easily ride the X-Line and perform the Xtreme Dash at high speed.

Ratchet : 3-80

3-80 (or Three Eighty) is a Ratchet from the Beyblade X generation. This Ratchet features three “blades” along its perimeter, and it is 8 mm tall. Its tall height makes it easier to strike from below, increasing burst risk. Therefore, it usually is a preferred option in attack type combinations.

See the complete article on 3-80 here.

Bit : High Needle (HN)

High Needle is a defense type Bit, featuring a sharp cone-shaped tip. As its name suggests, this Bit is a high variant of Needle. “HN” creates a semi-stationary behavior, allowing the combination to dodge early hits in the first seconds of the battle. It will quickly stabilize itself in the center part of the Xtreme Stadium.

High Needle has high stamina potential, making it a popular choice in stationary combinations.

How to Improve Leon Claw 3-80HN

The light weight of Leon Claw results in poor defense potential. Most of the time, it performs better in attack/balance combinations where its light weight can be used to increase mobility.

The 3-80 Ratchet does not necessarily need to be replaced, but players may opt for 3-60, 4-60 or 5-60 to lower the combination’s height.

High Needle has high stamina potential, making it a great option in stationary stamina/defense type combinations. Therefore, it is recommended to use it with stamina/defense type Blades.

Leon Claw can have decent results in a non-competitive environment, when combined with balance type Bits such as Taper and Point. Attack type Bits such as Flat and Gear Flat are good alternatives, providing more aggressiveness at the detriment of stamina.

Gear Flat combined with Leon Claw will create fast and powerful Xtreme Dash attacks. However, this combination will also result in an increased self Knock-Out risk.

Final Thoughts

This Beyblade lacks consistency, its real value lying in its individual Parts. Both 3-80 Ratchet and High Needle Bit can be used in competitive combinations.

Leon Claw lacks weight to be used in a competitive environment. However, players who are not focused on competitive play can use its light weight to create fast and spectacular Xtreme Dash attacks.

Therefore, Leon Claw 3-80HN is not a must have for competitive players who already have 3-80 and High Needle Xtreme Gear Sports Parts. However, it can be a nice addition for collectors.
